Darood of the Day

A blessed Ṣalawat upon the Prophet ﷺ, renewed each day to keep your heart connected to the Most Beloved.

"O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muḥammad, the opener of what was closed, the seal of what had gone before, the helper of truth by the Truth, and the guide to Your straight path — and upon his family, according to his immeasurable worth and greatness."

The book of blessings

What is the Dala'il Al Khayrat?

The Dala’il Al Khayrat (also known as Dalailul Khairat, دلائل الخيرات) is a compilation of salawat,
or sending
of blessings and peace upon the Prophet ﷺ. The extended title of the book is
Dala’il Al Khayrat wa Shawariq Al-Anwar fi Dhikr al-Salat
‘ala al-Nabi al-Mukhtar

(The Guide to Goodness and the Advent of Blazing Lights in the Remembrance to ask for Blessings upon
the
Chosen Prophet).

Soon after it was written, the Dala’il al Khayrat swept across the Islamic World, from North Africa
to
Indonesia.
All well-to-do homes had one; princes exchanged magnificently embellished copies of it and commoners
treasured
it.
Everyone who read it found that barakah descended wherever it was recited, in accordance with the
Divine
command:
Verily Allah and His angels bless the Prophet: O you who believe, bless him and grant him peace (Qur’an
33:56).

Millions of Muslims from East to West recite it, alone and in groups, in homes and mosques, utterly spending themselves in the Blessings on the Most Beloved.

The Author

Imam
Al-Jazuli

The author is the Sufi, Wali, Muslim scholar of prophetic descent, Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Jazuli. Born in the 9th Hijri century, he was raised among the Gazulah Berbers of the Sus region in southern Morocco. After studying the Qur’an and gaining traditional Islamic knowledge, he travelled to Fez where he met scholars of his time such as Ahmad Zarruq, and Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah Amghar, who became his sheikh in the tariqa or Sufi path.

His spiritual path drew thousands of disciples who, aided by the popularity of his manual of Blessings on the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), had a tremendous effect on Moroccan society. He taught followers the Blessings upon the Prophet, extinction of self in the love of Allah and His messenger.

He was told by the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) in a dream, ”I am the splendor of the prophetic messengers, and you are the splendor of the awliya.“

Why recite daily

Benefits of Dalā'il al-Khayrāt

There are innumerable benefits to reading Dalā'il al-Khayrāt and sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. Here is a small number of them.

Obeying Allah

Sending Ṣalawat is a divine command directly from Allah in the Qur'an. Every time you recite, you fulfill a sacred obligation and draw closer to your Lord.

Allah Will Bless You Ten Times

Whoever asks for blessings and peace upon the Prophet ﷺ, Allah will bless that person ten times in return. Every single recitation multiplies in reward.

Worries Removed

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever is troubled should increase his asking for blessings upon me — it will remove anxieties, sorrows and cares, and increase provision."

Increase your salawat and your worries will be lifted.

Sins Forgiven

Anas ibn Mālik reported: "Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will erase ten sins from him and raise him ten degrees in status."

Du'ā Accepted

Begin your supplication with Ṣalawat, end it with Ṣalawat. For Allah will accept the two requests for blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ and what is asked in between is too noble to be rejected.

Blessings in the Hereafter

The Prophet ﷺ said: "The more you ask for blessings upon me, the more you will have in the Garden."

We humbly ask you to remember in your du’ā every soul behind this work —
those seen and unseen who contributed sincerely for the sake of Allah.
Our intention is simple: to make this a ṣadaqah jāriyah
that continues to benefit hearts and increase love for Al-Ḥabīb ﷺ.

If you find even a trace of goodness in these pages, we ask you to pray that Allah accepts it from us, forgives our shortcomings, and makes it a source of light in the Hereafter.
